This particular product is a carbon fiber tank cover fairing with reinforced corners that act as crash pads.  The areas where the tank protrudes the most are reinforced to give maximum protection for your gas tank.  This is not a replacement gas tank, this is a cover which goes over your existing gas tank for protection.

These gas tank covers are available in clear coated gloss finish or matte finish.  The gloss finish is clear coated using a clear plastic coating which not only improves the appearance of the product, but also protects the carbon fiber from the UV rays and scratching.
