Introducing our custom for the 2020+ BMW S1000XR! Utilizing our decade of experience and research into the BMW ECU's has helped us A LOT to develop our Stage 1 Flash. Customers love our self-tuning flash (a BT Moto exclusive feature) and how easy our handhelds are to use. No need to remove your ECU!

US and European model S1000XR’s have been restricted from the factory, with the US models having some of the worst restrictions we have ever seen on a BMW liter bike. This is the main reason people come to BT Moto. Derestriction and reliability, all in one, easy to use package.

Factory Issues

• Throttle Restriction - Throttle is restricted and has a lazy feel on tip-in with power loss of power in certain gears / RPMs
• Exhaust Valve - Restricted to keep quieter, which results in power loss
  
• Fueling - The BMW S1000XR fueling is set rich from the factory and needs adjustment
• Heat Management - The S1000XR feels hot and runs hot

What We Do To Fix These Issues

• Throttle Restriction - We remove the factory throttle restrictions across the board to give you the riding experience and power you wanted off the showroom floor
• Exhaust Valve - We still utilize the stock exhaust valve to give you maximum power but also open it up when you need to make peak power gains. This also gives the bike a more robust sound with the factory exhaust
  
• Fueling - Using our full-time closed loop feature (BT Moto Exclusive) we program the S1000XR to target a better AFR (Air/Fuel Ratio) to make a little more power along with fixing drivability and idle issues. This means the bike self-tunes as long as the factory sensors are still installed.
• Heat management - We turn the fans on early and adjust the fueling to a proper ratio to make for a cooler running, more consistent bike.
• Please note: Our stage 1 tuning is certified 50 state legal by CARB EO D-868. As of July 2025, we no longer offer extended rev limiter options on stage 1 tuning. Stage 1 is designed to for OEM dealer level serviceability and to abide by BMW's warranty standards. For race use please consider our stage 2 mapping upgrade.
